Dr. Janecka graduated from the Charles University, Prague, Czechoslovakia. He served his internship in general Surgery at the University Hospital, Hradec Kralove, Czechoslovakia. He performed his General Surgery-Residency at the St. Vincent's Hospital, New York. He served his Residency in Otolaryngology at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, New York. He performed his Plastic Surgery- Residency, at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, New York. He served his Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery, at the Pack Medical Group, John Conley, MD, New York. He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

He was honoured with the Physician's Recognition Award by the American Medical Association in 1983, 1987, 1991, 1993-1997 and 1996-1999. He was included in the Who's Who in the East, 20th edition in 1983 and in Who's Who in Frontier Science and Technology in 1984. He was also listed in the 1985-edition of the Marquis Who's Who in Cancer: Professionals and Facilities and in the November, 1989-edition of the Outstanding Medical Specialists in the United States, Town and Country. He was listed in the Best Doctors in America, Second Edition, Woodward/White in 1993 and in the Third Edition, in 1996. He was also included in the Sterling Who's Who Directory, 1995-1996.
