Dr. Robert L. Epstein

Dr Robert Epstein received his Medical Degree from the University of Chicago. Afterwards he underwent an additional training at the University of Illinois where he served his internship and residency. While in ophthalmology practice, he earned an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is board certified in ophthalmology and has been in practice since 1979.

Dr Epstein is currently heading the Center for Corrective Eye Surgery. His high level of surgical skills especially in procedures for reducing and eliminating patient dependency on glasses and contact lenses is recognized throughout the United States. Dr Epstein has been performing this kind of procedures since 1980. He was the first surgeon in the Midwest to perform radial keratotomy (1980). In addition, he was the first surgeon in the Midwest (third in the U.S.) to perform LASIK (1991). He was the only surgeon in the Midwest performing keratomileusis, from 1983 to 1991. In 1990 , he was the first in the Chicagoland area to perform "no stitch" cataract surgery. In 1997 he became the first surgeon in the Midwest to perform surgery to reverse presbyopia.

Dr Epstein has as a goal to use his abilities in order to make a visible and definitely positive difference in the quality of life for his patients. Corrective eye surgery does that and he feels very lucky to do so much for people's health and well being.
