| Dr. An received his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Ohio in 1982. He afterwards served there his Internship from 1982 to 1983 and his Orthopaedic Residency from 1983 to 1988. He performed a Spine Fellowship at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Pennsylvania Hospital (Rothman Institute), Philadelphia, PA from 1988 to 1989.

Dr. An has served as Chief of the Spine Service at the Department of Orthopaedics of the Medical College of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics (Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin) from 1989 to present. He is on staff at the Veteran's Administration Hospital Milwaukee, WI, at the Lakeland Medical Center, Elkorn, WI and at the West Allis Memorial Hospital, West Allis, WI. He was named Teacher of the Year - 1990, 1996 from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of the Medical College of Wisconsin. In addition, he has been honoured with the North American Spine Society Research Award in 1993. He has been selected by his peers to be listed in the Best Doctors in America in 1996. He has also been selected to be listed in the American Registry's Who's Who in leading professionals in 1996. |

Dr. An is a member of numerous scientific societies. He has been also Associate Editor of the SPINE from 1995 and reviewer of the Journal of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons from 1994 to present.
