Dr. Garfin Steven R. - Orthopaedy / Ortopedia

It's quite impossible describe briefly everything that Dr. Garfin has done. He is one of the most famous surgeons that specialize in spine surgery.
He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1972. After graduation he received additional training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, San Diego, where he specialized in 1979. His primary area of interest has been the disorders of the spine.

Dr. Garfin specializes in spine surgery. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the following: "American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons", "Cervical Spine Research Society" and "International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine". He has received numerous awards and honors for his low back pain clinical studies and for his cervical spine research. He has lectured extensively and has been many times director of symposiums on fractures, deformities and degenerative conditions of the spine.

Dr. Garfin not only is the author of many books on spine surgery but he also publishes articles and scientific papers in numerous orthopaedic surgery journals. He serves currently as director of the Orthopaedic Department of the University of San Diego, where collaborates with a highly qualified and well-trained staff.
