Dr. Thomas A. Zdeblick

Dr. Zdeblick received his M.D. degree from the Tufts University Medical School, in Boston, in1982. He then served his Internship, Residency, and Microsurgery Research Fellowship, at the Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, from 1982 to1988, gaining precious specialist experience. He afterwards performed a Spine Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, from 1988 to 1989. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Zdeblick currently holds the position of director of the University of Wisconsin Spine Center. He serves as Professor and Chairman at the Division of Orthopedic Surgery. His special areas of surgical interest include the following: cervical deformity, spinal trauma, anterior thoracolumbar spinal instrumentation, spinal tumor surgery, interbody fusion cages, bone graft substitutes, and laparoscopic spinal surgery. He is a pioneer in his specialty. It's worth saying that Dr. Zdeblick founded the University of Wisconsin Spinal Biomechanics Research Laboratory in 1989. He has a large research activity.

Dr. Zdeblick serves on the editorial board of many national academic journals, including Neuro-Orthopedics and Spine. He was selected by his peers in his country to be included in the 1999-edition of the Best Doctors In America.
