Dr. Dryer graduated from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. After graduation he went on to complete the combined orthopaedic-neurosurgical spine fellowship at New York University Medical Center. Successively he joined the Faculty of the departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Neurosurgery at New York University Medical Center. In addition Dr. Dryer is supervisor of the Bellevue Hospital Scoliosis Clinic. He has lectured extensively on scoliosis and spinal microsurgery. He is a member of the North American Spine Society.

He is accomplished at providing non -surgical care to their patients and when surgery is required he is able to perform the full spectrum of spinal procedures, from minimally invasive microsurgical techniques to complex anterior and posterior spinal reconstruction. In addition, he is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on spine surgery. The Research Society on Scoliosis has honoured him with the prestigious award Hibbs.
